Who are we?

About US

The Ethiopian Food System and Agroecology Consortium (EFSA-C) is a network of organizations and individuals working to promote agroecology and sustainable food systems in Ethiopia. We believe that agroecology is the best way to ensure food security, nutrition, and environmental sustainability for all Ethiopians.

Agroecology is a science, a set of practices, and a social movement that promotes the use of diverse, sustainable agricultural methods. It is based on the principles of ecology, and it seeks to create food systems that are healthy for people and the planet.

EFSA-C was founded in 2016 to bring together people from across Ethiopia who are working to promote agroecology. We have grown to over 500 members, and we are working to Increase awareness of agroecology and its benefits, Support the adoption of agroecological practices by farmers and communities, Advocate for policies that support agroecology and build a network of agroecology practitioners and advocates.

We believe that agroecology is the key to a sustainable future for Ethiopia. We are committed to working with others to build a food system that is healthy, just, and sustainable for all.
